Artist Statement

The body is both a bridge and a gate, connecting subjects while separating the interior from the exterior. This fluid boundary, where the seen and unseen, known and felt collide, inspires my work. Through depictions of wounds, morbidities, and twisted forms, I explore the body as a vessel for memory, trauma, and emotion, revealing the fragile spaces where the self struggles to be understood. Drawing on Husserl’s concept of the Site of Subjectivity, I project unspeakable emotions onto objects and spaces, transforming them into mirrors of hidden identity. In my drawings, low-saturation colors and layered textures reflect emotional depth, while my sculptures extend these ideas into three-dimensional forms, creating tension between figures and their environments. By reexamining the boundaries between private expression and public space, my work probes how individuals navigate and confront universal alienation.
